Vipers Can't Dig out of Hole, 4-7

Sunday, February 8, 2009, 5:00AM

The Vipers dug themselves to big of a hole to get out of as they spotted the Glades a 4 goal lead before chipping away late in the game but ended up on the short end of a 7-4 decision. The 98's would find themselves down 3-0 early on 2 Glade power play goals. Kyle Lynch and Kyle Hentosh would then hook up on a incredible goal as Hentosh would carry the puck down the left wall, he would hold onto the puck around a sprawling defenseman, below the goaline and at the last minute he would dish an incredible pass to a streaking Lynchy high in the slot who would bury it to cut the lead to 3-1.

The Glades would however go on to score 5 goals int he second period to extend their lead. Like they have done all year the 98's refused to lay down as they would score 2 goals in 11 seconds to cut the lead in half, the first on another pretty goal while on the power play, moving the puck nicely and showing excellent puck possession skill Kyle Lynch would feed Aaron Dollin who dropped down nicely into some open space and fire a wrist shot short side. Heath King would then bang in a rebound off a Brendan White rocket with JT Chamberlain also picking up an assist, and finally Dante Maribito would finish off an incredible individual effort after being stopped on a breakaway would gather his own rebound circle the net, hold onto the puck long enough and then put one top shelf where Grandma keeps the cookies. Andrew Krajeski came in and played very nicely between the pipes in relief.
