The 98's went up north to play the New Hampshire Avalanche and may not have won the game but continued to take great strides in their development this season dropping a 5-2 decision. Playing full contact for only the second game all season the Vipers more than held their own against a very talented Avs team. The Vipers played physical and matched the Avs shift to shift, but in the end the Vipers made a few to many mental errors that a good Avs team capitalized on. Avs jumped out ahead just 1:33 into the game and closed the period with the same lead. Heath King tied the game with one of the prettiest goals of the year as he took a feed from JT Chamberlain on the left wall and made a nice cut to the middle of the ice avoiding a check and wristed one over the glove. The Avs would then hit the Vipers with a crushing blow scoring 2 goals in the last 25 seconds of the second period, which the Vipers couldn't recover from. Dante Maribito would finish off a nice feed from Kyle Lynch to pull the Vipers within 1 but thats as close as they would get. Andrew Krajeski would come on in relief between the pipes to have a solid outing.
