Vipers U16 Black WIN Monarchs Challenge Cup Tournament Congratulations to the U16 Vipers for going 4-0 this past weekend and winning the Monarchs Challenge Cup Tournament in Hooksett New Hampshire. The team beat the Moose (4-0), Monarchs (4-1), Lovell Knights (3-1) and won the Championship by beating the Boston Advantage (2-1) in a very fast paced up tempo competitive game. The Vipers are really coming together as a team this year as they began by capturing the Spring Hockey North Championship and have continued their winning ways into the Fall season by winning with this fast start tournament. The next tournament challenge will come Columbus Day weekend up North again in Hudson NH when they partake in the Cyclones annual U16 tournament

    NOTICE: Thieves Target Local Rinks

    Friday, September 6, 2013, 2:28PM

The local rinks have been targeted by thieves.

    • On Wednesday, the U16Vipers-White team had (9) cellphones, a wallet, and cash stolen at Peabody Rink.
    • Thursday night the U16Vipers-Red team had cell phones and wallets stolen as well.

We have been notified that Newburyport, Revere, Peabody, Hockeytown (twice), and Kasabuski have all had thefts this week.

The thieves seem to be targeting the rinks and grabbing phones and cash from the locker rooms while teams are on the ice.

Please make sure that valuables are either secured or left at home and keep an eye out for anyone entering locker rooms while your child is on the ice.

    East Coast Early Bird Tournament

    Wednesday, September 4, 2013, 6:28PM
    from the USHR:

    Greater Boston Vipers

    “A” Players:

    Matt Koopman
, ’98 F, Greater Boston Vipers U16 – 5-10/165, Marblehead HS – Smooth-skating, athletic, nice hands. Consistently noticeable. Sophomore at Marblehead High looked good at Beantown and was just as good here. Has D-I potential. Some prep school should scoop him up ASAP.

    Noteworthy:

Noah Maercklien, ’98 F, Greater Boston Vipers U16 – 5-10/150. Swampscott HS – Noticeable for his hockey IQ. Good in offensive zone. A bit off the map at Swampscott HS, but we feel he’s worth checking back in on in the winter.
